So...long story, my wife and I were in Hawaii the last 11 days. So on the way back today we had a bit of a round about trip, Hawaii to LA to SF to Salt Lake City.
We got to LA and it turned out the flight to SF before ours was cancelled, so TONS of people wanted to get on our flight to SF. I checked the schedules and saw there was a direct flight to Salt Lake a little later and volunteered to get bumped for compensation. So we got a direct flight to Salt Lake that only got us there an hour later, plus they put us in first class, gave us free meals at the airport, and gave us 2 free round trip tickets in the future.
To make it all better once we got on the plane I was checking out the First Class digs (never flown first class before) and my wife says to me "he called that guy Reggie Miller, who is Reggie Miller" I told her he was a former NBA superstar, she asked "is that him" and sure enough across the aisle and one row back was Reggie Miller. He had headphones on and was writing on a notepad (I took a peak after hitting the restroom and he was writing down thoughts on C - Al Harrington in preparation for the game tomorrow). So I didn't want to hassle him, but once we landed I asked him for a couple autographs and told him he's my bro's favorite player all time, he said to tell him thanks, asked him who he liked in the Jazz/Warriors series and he said he couldn't call it, but he thinks the Jazz should beat them if they just play them right.
Anyway, it was pretty cool, just thought I'd share.
