Chris Kaman for Jason Richardson?

Postby flipmeister on Wed Nov 26, 2008 8:13 am

The Clippers would like to move forward with a full complement of players. They'd also like to explore tinkering with their roster, which would feature an abundance of starting-caliber big men in Randolph, Chris Kaman and Marcus Camby. One source said the Clippers are talking to the Charlotte Bobcats about a package that would send Kaman to Charlotte for Jason Richardson. However, another Clippers source said, "Kaman's not out there."

That would be a dumb move for both teams.

Definitely helps the Clippers, but Kaman will be in the same situation he was with the Clippers and iunno how two pure C's can co-exist together in Charlotte. Great deal for the Clippers though if it happens.

Okafor doesn't have a midrange jumper and cannot cover quicker PF's. He will not compliment Kaman well.

Charlotte:

Kaman and Okafor would be nasty in the frontcourt on defense.

The Bobcats don't have any legit big men outside of Okafor. Kaman > Sean May and whoever they have as a black hole at PF/C beside Okafor right now.

Paves the way to start D.J. Augustin and Ray Felton together in a 2 point guard set, and allows Gerald Wallace to focus more on offense with Okafor and Kaman taking care of interior defense.

Wallace, Kaman and Okafor would put up around 9 BPG combined.

Los Angeles:

Gain a 2nd scoring option next to Baron Davis.

Gain a true shooting guard and allow them to ease the rookie Eric Gordon in as a sixth man rather than pressuring him to be Baron's #2. Richardson > Eric Gordon.

Allows them to clear the logjam in their frontcourt and start Randolph at PF and move Camby back to his natural C position.

Thornton, Richardson, and Baron Davis is a good trio that can put up points on the board, as well as Randolph who can put up double doubles.
