I'm older and witnessed the Celts vs Lakers in the 80's so yeah, I despise the Fakers.

the only crying shame about the Lakers is that a good talent like Odom has to play second fiddle to the ego maniacal ball hog.
U know the guy whose ego is so big he changed numbers so he could be #1 in Jersey sales in the NBA. :man2:

I just Hope Bynum is the second coming of Benoit Benjamin. (Loads of talent no brains to consitently use it) :man1:

I'm a Laker fan... I don't hate the Celtics but I don't like them.

Maybe some people who were alive during the great rivalry still hate the Lakers. :boxing1: (I was born in 88)

1987 Lakers has to hate the Celtics. :man1:

With a member base as large as they have at CL you're bound to get a mix of everything old/young, mature/immature, etc...

Part of me hates the Lakers but really it's kind of hard to trash on any team considering what kinda shape the C's are in. The Nets have become the New Lakers for C's fans. My list goes.

1.Nets
2.Pacers
3. Lakers

What'd the Nets do? :man1:

Would this be a good time to ask if I can get "ClubNetsHoops Admin" under my username?

The C's more recent playoff runs have been cut short by the Nets and Pacers.

I guess that's a good reason. I think the Celtics getting lucky and drafting Oden could spark a new rivalry between LA/BOS. Oden vs. Bynum, Pierce vs. Kobe, Al vs. Odom, all very good matchups.

Id love to see the LA/Boston rivalry get going again, hopefully the C's do get lucky and get a chance to draft Oden or Durant.

I'd like to see the rivalry renewed as well. Maybe Oden could spark Bynum to start playing more physically and imposing his will in the paint.

The Boston/LA rivalry was great and with both teams developing young talent I hope they can both become elite teams again.

It was hard to hate the Lakers when they had Shaq. Just like it'd be hard to hate the Heat if it wasn't for Dwyane Wade.

But there will always be some grudgery with the Lakers. It just goes back so far, it's impossible to not hate them deep down.

Yes! I very much hate the Lakers. My 2 favorite teams are the Celtics and anyone playing the Lakers. I thought it was terrible when the fans were cheering for Kobe in the Garden.... They should be ashamed of themselves and be forced to watch Celtics Pride for hours and hours and hours.

my gf (now wife) thought I'd love that movie being a basketball nut and a bleeding green celtics fan.
I was nervous going to see it and embarassed leaving the theatre.

only real question is, what was worse.

Old-schooll fans of each team - yes. Nowadays, I doubt the same hate that lived then is in the blood of most fans. The rivalry died off.

If the Lakers get a player that can put them over the hump, then the rivalry is onnn. :whipit:
