Gerald Green a viable fantasy option?

Gerald Green

YouTube the 2005 high school dunk contest (yes, YouTube is a verb). Double G and Josh McRoberts put on a clinic that easily rivals any recent NBA dunk contest. I remember seeing it a few years ago and seriously geeking out. Anyway, Green is beginning to transition from complete neophyte to a player who can log some minutes and contribute, following the curve many straight-to-the-pro’s players have in the past. He’s already helping from long range, with five threes in his last three games and 1.1 per game in under twelve minutes per game on the season. He’s behind Wally Szczerbiak on the depth chart, although Wally’s world has been hampered by a bum ankle lately, something that could be good news for Green’s playing time should it persist. Doc Rivers has gone with Tony Allen in the starting lineup with Wally out for defensive purposes, but Green is more of an offensive threat. Word around Boston is that Rivers is going to start making minutes for him, and Green’s potential plus more minutes equals hooray in the fantasy world. He’ll pour in the threes, and with his ridiculous leaping ability and length, will also contribute in steals and blocks when his time comes.
