Minnesota Timberwolves (26-31) at Boston Celtics (15-42)
Sunday, March 4, 2007 • 12:30 PM ET
Regular Season Game #59 • Home Game #28
League Pass 751, FSN
TD Banknorth Garden • Boston MA

Probable Starters
PG West vs Foye
SG Pierce vs Davis
SF Scal vs Hassell
PF Jefferson vs Garnett
C Perk vs Blount

Key Match Ups
vs
The image of Ricky celebrating after hitting the game winner against us in Minny will be burning in Pierce's memory and he will do his best to avoid a similar celebration on our floor. However, he may try to do too much and sabotage the team effort.

Off the Bench

Rondo/Green/Gomes/Powe

Smith/James/Jaric/Hudson

Keys to the Game
Keep up intensity for 48 minutes. We tend to start off strong and then let up or to start out cold and play catch up all game. We need to put forth a strong effort on both ends of the court the entire game.

Defense Defense is what wins games. We have to play pressure defense and get stops. Also, we have to defend in the paint. Perk plays well against the Wolves as does Al. Hopefully Doc will play Powe as he gives us another strong defender in the paint.

Play as a team We need to be patient on offense and find the open man and get good shots. Pierce or any other player can't try to take the game over. It has to be a team effort. We also have to play help defense and not give up any easy baskets.

Take care of the ball We have to keep the turnovers down. We give away too many points by being careless with the ball.

Rebound We need to win the war on the glass. Rebounding gives us second chance points and keeps them from getting put backs. Beating them on the boards is very important to getting the win.

Get a new coach.

This game is all about revenge. We need to remember Ricky and Blount celebrating in front of our bench and not let them do it on our home court[/img]

With our luck Ricky will probably have 30+ points and Blount will have 15 boards.

I know I said I want losses, but this one is kinda nice to win.

Double overtime, great game from both teams, but at the end, D-West, Ryan Gomes and Al Jefferson were just too much for the Wolves. Each of those guys had double-doubles.

And KG with another triple-double...

was a sweet game to watch.
they had it on here in Canada on Rogers Sportsnet but the feed was (as usual) from an American channel, so I got hear Tommy H and his Tommy points LOL. Tommy is so odd but a great Celtics homer.
It was a good win.
winning here and there is okay, but 4 in a row?!?!
they are sooo gonna screw this up.
Doc better start benching Paul or have someone kick him in the ankle or somethin'
even if Paul wasn't shooting well, teams have to pay attention to him and that makes it easier for the rest of the C's.

Close.... Ricky had 35 but Blount managed 3 rebounds in 40 minutes before fouling out.

I still like Ricky. He is a fun player to watch. But Blount is a cancer and I am glad he is their problem now.

For all those wanting to trade Al for KG... forget it. KG is still a great player but he isn't near as dominant as he once was. Give Al another year and he will be as good as if not better than KG and have a lot more years left to play at that level.

Good win for us. We needed that one. Bad call on Ricky that seems to have Wolves all up in arms, but we have had so many of those calls go against us recently, it was good to have one go our way finally.

I think the winning is a good thing. most of these players will be the core of our team next year, even if we add a Durant or an Oden or another top pick or even if we trade a couple for a vet. Most of these guys are going to be the core of our team. The way they are playing and learning to win is a good thing for our future.

The team with the worst record has only won the lottery 3 times since 1990. The lottery is very iffy and even with the worst record, we aren't guaranteed the 1st pick. These kids are much better than their record and it just took some chemistry and health to get them there.

well the core of next years team has 17 wins.
and yes injuries have been bad this year.
but even with a healthy Paul and Tony Allen, they still don't play .500 ball or make the playoffs this year.
they need more talent.
Not all of the promising young guys on the C's are going to reach their potential.

I agree. Even with Wally, Paul and Tony healthy we dont break 500. Tony didn't start playing so good until Pierce was gone, which makes me wonder if he'll ever play to that level again. Either way the young guys like Rondo and Gerald Green have been able to get some nice minutes this year, which is only going to benefit them next season. I look at Gerald Green like a 3 year rookie type guy. He has all the talent, but being drafted out of highschool puts you at a big disadvantage in the NBA, at least on the fundamental and defensive end, IMO. So he could easily have a breakout season.

Im still not ready to give up on Bassy. I think alot of his problems stemmed from the Celtics not playing uptempo. Sebastian's specialty is uptempo fast paced ball, and when he was playing the team wasnt always running. He still needs to find some type of offensive game, but he could become a good backup to Rondo.

Still even with a top 2 pick, we need to bring in some veteran help. Scalabrine, Paul and Wally just wont cut it.
