I'm pretty sure everyone here already knows how free agency works, but here's just a brief outline of the rules.

- You can find all available free agents under Free Agents on the League Site
http://ibsl.50webs.com/

-All offers must be PM'ed.

There are 3 different kind of offers:

1.) LLE its worth 1.2 million and you sign a player for 1 year
2.) MLE its worth 4.5 million and you also sign a player for 1 year

If You Have Cap Space You Cannot Offer The MLE or LLE

3.) Standard Offers
GMs that do have some cap space can sign a player by this format:
Player name:
Amount Of Years:
Total amount of money:
Year 1 -
Year 2 -
Year 3 -
Year 4 -
Year 5 -
Year 6 -
Year 7 -

The max increase for years is 10% and a player cannot decrease in salary, for example, a player cannot be offered a contract of 12.5mil in year 1, and then 9.5mil in year 2

*Free agents will then decide which offer is best for them and sign with a team, keep in mind that players Loyalty, Greed and Play For A Winner levels come into play during free agency.

I believe the 12.5% increase only applies when re-signing your own FA's who have 3 or more bird years...

Your right, thanks for the heads up. A player signing with a new team can only have a 10% increase.

No, and No.

Doesn't allow it. Also MLE & LLE players cannot be traded at any point during the season.

If I want to offer them a MAX contract, I can just post ''MAX'' right? Do it all the time in other leagues but didn't see it mentioned in the format thread. Just wanted to make sure.

Yeah, you can just say MAX and however many years you want.

FA is done through PM though to keep bids private

ok nice thx - when does FA start?

by the way how long can i offer a minimum contract?

for example:

"I offer Player XY a minimum contract over 3 years with the max raise"

is that possible? or if iam over the cap only sign players for 1 year (1x MLE 1XLLE and as much as i want for the minimum)?

FA starts right after the draft ends

everything you said about contracts is true also

A player may actually be more likely to sign a long contract worth more total than a short one with a higher yearly salary

If your over the cap you have a max and a minimum offer, usually with the min, it will say the player won't sign for more then 2 seasons though. Min is somewhere around 200K, max is somewhere around 1M if your over the cap.
