We trade; Wally, Al Jefferson, Bassy, and Perkins to the Kings.
Kings trade; Ron ron, Kenny Thomas, and Shareef to Portland.
Portland trades; Jamal Magloire and Zack Randolph to us.
Why can this happen? Well. Portland wants to move Magloire. Here, they break down and move Randolph so they can get Shareef and Ron ron, two guys who are or can be scorers. Plus they get a seasoned pf in thomas. Through this trade they get some more guys with nba experience. If the pot needs sweetened for port. to do it throw our 2nd round pick in for them.
Kings seem to wanna move Bibby or ron ron...Really I think they just wanna move one of them to build chemistry. Plus Shareef isn't quite the scoring asset he once was. Kings get back Wally who when healthy is a good shooter and sf\sg swing guy. They get Big Al who is a future star already getting 10 and 20. Plus a young pg to back bibby and a young C in perks to put behind Miller.
We lose Big Al and that isn't fun but with all of this young talent we have to compromise somewhere. We lose Bassy who is young, cocky, and not proving himself. I don't care what you think. We got Delonte and Rajon for the pt. perks just doesn't perform and Wally is always injured. In return we get Randolph who is basically what Big Al will be in due time. He's a good guy to get because he's got some experience but not enough to make him old. He's in his 5th season. Puts up over 20+10. Plus we get Magloire who would be better than anyone we currently have at the 5 spot.
This gives us a strarting 5 of Delonte1, Pierce2, Green3, Randolph4, and Magloire5.
Plus who know where we could go in the offseason with the pick. Maybe get Oden and have him start with Mag. backing him up. Or durant or have the pick fall a little bit and trade it. |

Jefferson would definitely be the setback in this one, as you pointed out, but I think I'd go for it, not sure the other teams would, mainly the Kings, but it's a possibility. Just maybe a bit too large a trade to easily produce.
p.s. welcome to the forums _________________

| Yeah aha. I'm not sure if Danny would be conniving enough to pull it off. I mean Rons names been put out there alot in rumors but ya probably have to really sell our guys for them to pull the trigger. Could happen though haha. |

Yeah, really. Look at all the teams in this league who have a great player or few. . .And they're losing. I'd say every single team has at least a couple all-star calibur players. It's about building a balanced team that can do things well together. I think ZR and JM could really help our roster. Damn aha. |

I have to agree with nepg on the character issue though, it always seems to come around to bite a team. I know Randolph and Magloire definitely aren't the worst out there, but guys get labeled pretty quickly when they're on the Blazers. _________________

| Oh, that's like 5 million times worse than what I thought you had posted... Jeff, Perk, Wally, and Telfair for crap-ass Magloire (not as good as either Al or Perk) and lazy-ass, bad contract Randolph (same player as Gomes/Powe)? |

| I don't like this trade idea at all. Randolph only plays as hard as he wants to, and Magloire is on the downhill slope. |

| Portland would never take Ron Artest on. They are still trying to recover from the Jailblazer stigma that Bob Whitsit built here. |
