Reality is, the Celtics haven't faced the Lakers with a healthy core and you're not going to draw a solid conclusion on who's the better team until these two franchises face off this year.
Is Bynum going to look like a prime Wilt against Boston? No, he isn't. But as time progresses, he'll get his legs back and show us more of what he was last season -- and that was an intimidating prescence down low who will anchor the defense and give the LA frontline added and much needed toughness against a Perkins / Garnett tandem.
The addition of Gasol, who will work in the high post complements Bynum perfectly against Boston as Garnett, or whoever Gasol's man is, can not afford to leave him open and come down to double Bynum. Gasol's mid-range, high-post game is MILES ahead of a Ronny Turiaf or Kwame Brown. One of the many positives Gasol does for the Lakers, as well as Andrew Bynum.
Right now what do I observe? The Lakers added Andrew Bynum, the Celtics lost James Posey, who played a nice role for them off the bench. The Lakers as of now, have the superior squad, but the Boston Celtics are the defending champions until we, or any other team say otherwise -- and that's that.

| Just wait, Ariza and Kobe will shut down Pierce and Ray like they did Tmac and Artest.... KG will be KG, but that doesn't matter when bynum/pau will match that production.... no one on the celts can stay with Kobe, and the Lakers bench >>>>>>>> any bench in the league. Lakers will win by at least 7. |

Well since you always say this. How come Pierce has never been on an All-NBA 1st or even a 2nd team? How come Pierce has never even ended in the top 10 of MVP Voting? How come Pierce never led his team full of scrubs to the play-offs? |

| haha yea true to everything flip just said......he tries to look like a hero amongst other all-stars which is not too good considering he is not the only one......if he wanted to look like a hero then he should have led his team when they didnt have the players they have now. |

well ... All-NBA teams are a popularity contest and like All-Star teams have no real meaning. Same thing with MVP voting.
As for the playoffs, Pierce led his scrubs pretty much every year to the playoffs since Pitino quit and Pierce became the focal point of the team. They missed one year (Toine fucking over the fragile psyches of Ricky Davis, Mark Blount and Marcus Banks) and then the next one Pierce missed half the season and half the team got hurt leading to the 18 game losing streak that ended last season, Al Jefferson was recovering from an operation and slowly coming back, Wally was constantly hurt with this or that, Perk had shoulder problems, Allen blew out his knee, Telfair was playing point guard ... In short, throughout his career, Pierce consistently led his team to the playoffs. Until last year, he never had a player capable of actually being a star playing with him (games at the end of the 06-07 season hardly count).
It's impossible to lead crummy teams to NBA titles. It's hard even to get them titles with good teams.

i know, i may be going if i get the job this morning/afternoon- i told my dad i'd take him to hooters downtown in Indy and then to the game to celebrate if i get it.
the 3400 is gone already hahaha  i really like thier arena, nice seating arangment and right close to everything downtown.. Indy is one of my favorite towns, the girls,,, the clubs... the booze... the hooter girls.... very clean town, ive done a few fotoshoots in downtown indy and one hooter girl ..  |
