Former Celtic Ricky Davis scored 28 points including the game winner to lift the Timberwolves over the Celtics 109-107 for their 18th straight loss. The Celtics played with more intensity and played better with Paul Pierce back in the lineup but came up short in the end once again.

Pierce played 31 minutes in his second game back from injury and scored a game high 29 points on 9-16 shooting along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block. Gomes played 43 minutes and scored 17 points with 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Green came off the bench for 14 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 17 minutes.

Al was hampered by foul trouble most of the game and played only 23 minutes finishing with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. Perk had a good game scoring 11 points and pulling down 5 rebounds. Scal started and played 37 minutes going scoreless with 5 rebounds and 4 assists but he won the Tommy Award for his hustle on the floor. Powe once again didn’t play. He has earned a chance to play and Doc could play Gomes a few less minutes and Scal a few less minutes and give Powe a chance.

Rondo started at the Point again and finished with 8 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal in 20 minutes. Telfair got in the game early but played only 3 minutes and finished with 3 points and 1 turnover. West was questionable before the game as his back is acting up again but he started at the 2 and played 36 minutes and moved to the point when Rondo was out finishing with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals but also had 5 turnovers.

We finally broke out of the shooting slump and shot 53.8% from the floor tonight. We were out rebounded by 1 but turned the ball over 19 times to 15 for the Wolves. The 2 former Celtics buried us tonight as they combined for 48 points and 10 rebounds including the game winner from the corner by Ricky D. Pierce looked like he was almost back to his old self. Al was limited by his foul trouble and didn’t play up to his usual level. In spite of the tough loss they played better tonight as a team than they have in a long time. Hopefully they take this and build on it and will pull out a win on Wednesday. At least the Bucks don’t have 2 ex-Celtics with a vendetta against us so we may have a chance.
