I would only look at Ray Allen or Brian Scalabrine in a trade.

well ... he is the best defensive starting shooting guard in terms of opponents PER in the league. :man10:

And he's had perhaps his best season in terms of efficiency in his career.

And his contract will be an expiring.

I don't know about Ray Allen's D back when he played for Seattle and Milwaukee, but in Boston he's been the team's best perimeter on ball defensive player since he arrived, better than Posey, Tony, and Pierce.

perhaps ...

having a well balanced offense where he isn't required to expend all his energy on offense should help. Also having strong team defense, in a well coached system and strong team defenders, KG, Rondo, and Perk also helps. Again, though, that just let's him to play tough, aggressive, good on man defense.

Ray is an expiring next season, so it's possible, although I think Ainge hangs onto him and prays he takes a pay cut. Ainge fucked us hard for a Championship, but hell, I'll take it.

well. it's important to see how some of the new players he has added do with this team. Pruitt has shown a bit of promise. Walker, too. We haven't really seen Giddens or Erdan yet. I'm not sure what Davis's contract situation is for next season. We probably want him or Powe (or both) back next season. I'm hoping Ainge takes advantage of the situation of Ray's and Scal's expiring contracts. We're not going to have enough room to make a bid at the 2010 class of free agents, but several teams want to. Between them, that's a little less than $23M in expiring contracts. Adding someone like JRich could the right way to go about adding a young star for Ray Allen.
