Notes: In spite of all the tanking talk, the Celtics have been playing hard and trying to win every game. Our youth, inexperience, and coach have given us a few losses in spite of the efforts. The unit that started the last game had great chemistry and if Doc wants to win like he says he does, he will start that same lineup. But this is Doc, and West will probably move back into the starting lineup. I am keeping the same lineup out of wishful thinking.

Notes: The Bucks have lost 6 in a row and without a doubt are in tanking mode. The Bucks are only 2 1/2 games behind us for the 2nd most pingpong balls. They have been doing their best to lose games and this game could be ugly. I have posted the same starters and bench from their last game but at this time of year, who can tell what a team will do from game to game.

Keys to the Game
With the way the Bucks have been playing, just showing up may be enough to win.

Defense, rebounding, and sharing the ball will be keys as always.

Doc Rivers is gonna screw up and we're gonna win 3-4 more games and move ahead of tanking Milwaukee.
and this year will have been a total waste when we either draft someone who is not ready to contribute or trade it away for mediocre talent and regret the trade in 3 years time...

After Bumping Knee, Jefferson May Sit vs. Bucks
By Peter F. Stringer

WALTHAM - Already down to nine bodies coming into Tuesday's practice, the Celtics may be looking at eight.

Al Jefferson banged his left knee with Ryan Gomes half way through practice, aggravating a minor injury he first suffered in a collision with Gerald Wallace during the Celtics' March 21 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats.

"[We] were just going at it hard, like always," Jefferson said. "We just banged knees. I was just complaining to Ed [Lacerte] how sore it was and he was giving me treatment on it, and [then] I banged it."

Jefferson's knee was sore and wrapped in ice and he said "I seriously doubt it" when asked if he could play Wednesday night against the Bucks. Jefferson expects to travel with the team today and at least try to give it a go tomorrow, but won't force the issue if it doesn't feel right.

Jefferson is also cognizant of the fact that he may be better off sitting out rather than trying to come back for the final few weeks of the season.

"You've got to think about things like that, but also I want to play," Jefferson said. "I want to get better, take advantage of these games and get better as a team, but I don't want to go out there hurt and risk further injury."

Meanwhile, Coach Doc Rivers said that the team will likely pursue at least one 10-day contract with a big man to fill the void. He didn't share any names, but given Jefferson's status, a signing would likely come before tomorrow's game in Milwaukee.

"I'd already asked them to see if we could bring a guy in so we could have 10 guys," Rivers said. "Now we would have to bring two in (to get to 10) and I think the league would allow us to do that with all of the injuries we have. I don't think we'll have to do that, but we'll still have to bring one guy in and I think we will."

Great News if you ask me. Hopefully Jefferson will sit out the whole game and Leon Powe will get a nice chunk of minutes, and we'll lose and help our lottery chances.

I totally agree.
however, I've run into some Celtic fans who think the C's should still be trying to win.
un-freaking-believable.

if we hop over the Bucks and end up with the #3 pick or worse, I'm sooo gonna torment them.

of course their logic is if that happens Ainge will package the pick, Theo and spare parts for an all-star level big man.
because, you know, Ainge has made such wonderful trades since becoming GM of the team and all :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

His next good trade will be his first one IMO.

I pray that we don't have to rely on a Danny Ainge trade. With his track record he'll trade Gerald and Rondo and both will have breakout years and be all-stars.
