Pierce out 2-3 weeks!

Pierce out 2-3 weeks!

Postby QuenteK25 on Thu Dec 21, 2006 5:57 pm

Apparently he has a stress reaction in his foot (what on earth is that). The story is on the home page. Things could be rough for us the next few weeks if he can't get back any sooner. Luckily we just have the Sixers up next (lets hope we don't drop one to them!) but next week we have the Nuggets and Clips.

I bought extremely expensive seats for the game on Friday at the start of the season, I got them to see AI and Pierce and now both of them will not be playing. I did the same for AI's rookie season, but Larry Brown suspended him for missing practice that game. So I am out of luck twice. I do hope to see a lot of Green though and I am a huge Al fan, so I am still happy. I hope it is a good game.

Bro, you have exactly my luck!

Let me give you the rundown...I grew up in Sacramento and was a HUGE Canseco fan. went to A's games like 3 times as a kid and he was injured every time.

I'm also a big Lakers fan, first Laker game I went to Shaq was out.

This last year when we were back visiting my parents we got tickets to see the Red Sox play the A's....Manny, Ortiz, Crisp, Varitek...all out! But we did get to see Schillings 3000th strikeout at least.

I was a huge Canseco game, went to see him play when with Oakland and he was out hurt, same the 5 games I went to see when he was on the Sox. But luckily I saw him when he was on the D-Rays.

Man, you got a few more tries in than I did, but at least you saw him once. Funny thing is, I just got a Canseco Jersey for xmas this year. I figured since my parents would buy it for me as a kid (too expensive) I may as well buy one for myself now. Should get some interesting responses with all his recent history.

That's funny...that happened to me when I got tickets to a Wizards game a couple years ago. I wanted to see Jordan play and sure enough, he was injured.

I hope Gerald gets some serious minutes in the next game though. I have a feeling Doc won't start him, and instead will go with:

Telfair
West
Allen
Gomes
Jefferson

You never know, maybe this team will surprise you. We should have Wally and Perk coming back sometime on the trip and this means that Green will get some regular playing time and he may just surprise everyone and break out. Without Pierce for everyone to defer to, they may just pull together and play some team ball.

It's true. Maybe having Pierce with all the young guys, makes the younger players play tentatively. Perhaps without Pierce some of the younger guys (Green, Rondo, even West) will start to play more confidently.

Geralds minutes have been like a roller coaster as of late. One night he'll play 28 then next 8...I dont know if Gerald will start but his minutes well for sure go up...he's 6'8 and right now one of our biggest scoring threats, his minutes should go way up with Pierce and Wally hurt

Having all these vets out is a blessing in disguise. Maybe we can actually see what some of these youngsters can really do without worrying about getting Pierce the ball.

Shoot me now, but I am of the opinion that PP is stunting this teams growth. Trding him would be a good idea IMO

You may be right Baloo, sometimes it's the trades that really shake up the team (dealing PSquared would be that trade) that bring about the desired change.
