Len Bias Documentary To Hit Theaters
• ESPN announced it has begun work on four films: King of the New York Streets recounts how former Indiana Pacers sharpshooter Reggie Miller crushed the New York Knicks' hopes and dreams in the 1995 playoffs; The Steinbrenner Family Business tells the story of how George Steinbrenner bought the New York Yankees in 1973 and returned the franchise to glory; And The Band Marched On: The Colts Sneak Out of Baltimore is director Barry Levinson's account of how Charm City's beloved team left for Indianapolis in 1984; and Muhammad and Larry documents Ali's humbling defeat in the twilight of his career to Larry Holmes in 1980. The four films will begin airing in October.
• Speaking of documentaries, a film about the 1986 death of Len Bias is due to be released June 19. The documentary, directed by Kirk Fraser, includes an interview with Brian Tribble, the convicted coke dealer and childhood friend of Bias who made the 911 call to police the night of the former Maryland star's death.
