Would you guys trade Jefferson, Green, Ratliff's expiring K for KG? That would give you a team with Ray Allen/Paul Pierce/Kevin Garnett. :man4:

Ya know at this point I might actually consider it. Ainge said he's still going to pursue another big name player wether that be Jermaine O'neal, KG or Gasol. A core of Pierce/Allen/KG could be pretty damn good in the East, only problem I see with that is that we'd be mortgaging our entire future for a chance to win now, and KG doesn't want to be here so at best we have him for 2 years. I'd rather stick with Jefferson.

I think KG would get an extension, because of the team he is looking at.

Yea, I doubt KG walks away from his player option year and leaves 20+ million on the table, but if the C's arent able to sign him to an extension then basically we traded away the whole future for a quick fix.

I'd consider it.
if Ainge is going to make a push now, go all in.
Jefferson will be alone in 2-3 years without Paul or Ray to help much, so what good can he do then?

PANIC MODE OR REBUILD MODE??

Postby shamrocked on Fri Jun 29, 2007 7:55 pm

Our G.M. Danny Ainge, was in a panic mode, and was being blackmailed by Paul Pierce and management on trading away our 5th pick and our
two players plus next year pick for Allen. Would you make this trade as
general manager? these trades happen, because we can not make up our
mind whether to rebuild without P.P. and move in a more sensible direction as a NBA franchise and REBUILD!! instead we pick up old old
ballplayers to fill the roster. Like I said before, we need a new General
Manager and Coach to manage the basketball operations, and return this team to respectability in the league. Otherwise people, the Celtics will continue to be a joke around the league, and we as fans will endure another losing season. The question you should ask yourself, is there a
general manager in the league that could do a better job then Ainge available? is there another coach out there and available that could do a better job then Rivers? :man3:

I don't like a KG move at this point... Trading #5 and scraps for Ray Allen was good, it made the team better and maintained the Big Young 3 of Al, Gerald, and Rajon. They need to use the MLE on a vet PG and find a vet big whether it be Theo, Dale Davis, PJ Brown or someone else... Other than that, they're good to go for a good run this year and for the future.

I'm wondering if I can get Danny Ainge to join my fantasy b-ball league...

LOL, so you can propose all sorts of whacky trades to him and see how fast he can submarine his squad?

Id love Allen, Pierce and KG...but KG isnt thrilled about the idea of coming to Boston, and Ray Allen is coming off of double ankle surgery, Paul Pierce is injury prone and KG is only getting older. Sure it would probably make us a top 2 or 3 team in the East, if not the best team in the East. But it's not going to win us a title because in order to get KG we would have to trade away all our depth.
