ESPN Insider's Chad Ford: If KG's not going to Chicago, where could he go? From what I'm hearing -- and at this point it's just a hot rumor -- the Wolves and Boston Celtics are talking about a Garnett deal.

In this scenario, Boston would send Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and change to Minnesota along with the No. 5 pick in the upcoming draft. In exchange, the Celtics would get Garnett.

While a six-for-one trade would create some awkward roster dilemmas, it could work for Boston in this case because the Celtics would be giving up only one member of their core: Jefferson. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves would get an emerging low-post star, a wing player with a lot of upside, another high draft pick and future cap flexibility.

TWolves get a lot of young talent, I like this for them.

The Celtics get a nice core of West/Pierce/KG. Add a couple pieces and they are championship contenders.

Yea I read over this article and even though we give up basically all our young talent we become alot closer to contending now. Hmm...KG could still opt out though and we wouldnt be able to negotiate until like July 1st anyways so would it be worth the risk of trading for him just to watch him walk away the next year.

At this point I don't want to see Jefferson traded.

I was very happy to read that KG nixed the trade. We would be giving up our future for a player on the way down at best and who would opt out after 1 year at worst.

I would rather keep the pick and try to bring in Lewis when he becomes a free agent.

KG is backing off his comment. If the Suns and Wolves can't work a deal out, he's open to other destinations.

Again, if All is invovled or 1/2 the team, then no thanks.

Well we will all know soon enough, but yea I read on DraftExpress that KG wouldnt be against the idea of playing for Boston, but Phoenix is his #1 choice.

I like getting KG and don't mind dealing one of Al or Gerald to get him, but not both. Apparently this still may happen. I'd also want them to get him locked up through 2010/11 (when Pierce's deal ends).

Giving up one of them doesn't hurt the future that much, especially considering how much better the C's would be with KG...legit contenders. But without either GG or AJ, the chances of Boston continuing success post-PP/KG is very slim.

Yea as much as I'd hate to give up Jefferson I would probably do it if it meant that it could bring KG to the Celtics. I wouldnt part ways with Gerald Green too though, it's one or the other.

I don't think KG wants to go to the east just to get to the Finals. He wants to go to a contender in the west so whoever faces them (unless the East gets better) would be the champion.

It looks like that they are at it again.

With Jefferson or Rondo, I wouldn't be pleased with the deal.

W/O Jefferson and Rondo, I could be very happy with the deal.

Yea with a core of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett, the Celtic's would be a serious threat in the East IMO. We'd have a great perimeter duo in Pierce and Allen, and the addition of KG would give us a dominating inside presence.

There's reports that it's been agreed to in principle:

BOSTON (AP) -- Kevin Garnett is leaving Minnesota after the Boston Celtics agreed to acquire the All-Star forward in a multiplayer trade with the Timberwolves, a Celtics official told The Associated Press on Monday.

Among the players who could be headed to Minnesota are forward Al Jefferson, guard Sebastian Telfair, swingman Gerald Green and center Theo Ratliff, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been completed. The official also said the Timberwolves would get at least one draft choice.

The teams "ran into a few things that need clarification" in the players' contracts, but the official said that would not keep the Celtics from acquiring Garnett, although there could be a change in the players ticketed for the Timberwolves.

There was a "50-50" chance that a conference call announcing the trade would be held Monday, the official said.

I assume part of the deal is also having Kevin Garnett signed to an extension to prevent him from opting out after this season. It'd be bad to rent him for a year at the cost of Al Jeff + 1st and the rest of them, only to have him walk.

The Celtics (I believe) still have their MLE as well. They've got some depth issues to sort out, and the MLE could address that. They should definitely make a hard push for Charlie Bell, because he can help play PG/SG/SF, depending on where he is needed. Also look at Danny Fortson for the Vets Min to help sure up the PF/C spot.
