The Celtics were behind by as many as 16 and played very little defense in the first half. The were down 9 at the half but came out in the 3rd quarter with a renewed committment to defense and were more aggressive offensively and pulled ahead with 2:19 left in the 3rd, never to look back.

Rondo got the start with West out and proved once again why he is the point guard of the future for this team. He is now showing some confidence in his offense and if that continues, this kid is going to be something special. He finished with 20 points on 6-9 shooting and also hit 7-9 from the FT line. He also had 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Telfair did a good job off the bench scoring 5 points to go with 1 rebound and 4 assists and played some good defense. Allan Ray played 19 games in his first game back from the D-League scoring 4 points on 2-5 shooting with 1 rebound and 1 assist.

Green got the start at the 2 guard and scored 19 points on 7-13 shooting to go with 3 rebounds and 1 assist. He finally started shooting off the catch in the second half instead of trying to dribble or waiting to shoot. He also had a very nice dunk that excited the crowd. Pierce scored 21 points on 8-18 shooting with 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals.

Al was once again a beast on the boards and was unstoppable on offense. He finished with 31 points (13-17), 16 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Al is getting better game by game it seems. We haven’t seen low post moves like that since Kevin McHale roamed the Parquet. Perk was 3-3 from the field for 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. Powe got 13 minutes and as always made the best of them scoring 6 points and pulling down 2 rebounds. Scal came off the bench to play 27 minutes and scored 6 points to go with 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks.

Al, Rondo, and Green looked really good in this game. Perk, Powe, and Telfair also played well. This team is coming together and we are watching all stars in the making. Even though we may lose a ping pong ball or two by losing, it is good to see this team playing as well they have been. Our young players are learning how to win and that is only going to be good for the future.
