Bulls Wear Green as They Beat Celtics 95-87

In what may have been the most annoying game of the season, the Celtics allowed Ben Wallace and Tyrus Thomas to beat them on both ends of the court.

First, the Bulls were wearing uniforms almost identical to the Celtics alternate road uniforms and the Celtics were in home whites. It was so hard to keep track with the Bulls in Celtics uniforms. League Pass had the Bulls feed and their announcers were horrible. They continually confused Perk and Al and even confused Perk with Pierce at one point. They mentioned how Al missed so much time this season and lacks strength. They were very uninformed about the Celtics and it was very hard to listen to them the entire game. Add that to the fact that the refs were terrible and gave the Bulls the benefit of almost every call and it was a hard game to watch. One call the Celtics did get was when Scal clotheslined Thomas and they didn’t call it a flagrant.

Pierce came back to play fairly well although he had a couple of his patented moves where he dribbled into a double team and lost the ball. It wouldn’t be a game without them.He finished with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Green struggled hitting only 2-7 shots for 6 points with 3 rebounds but was also given the job of guarding Gordon, Griffin and Thomas at times.

In a surprising move, Doc started Rondo at the point and moved West to the 2 guard. West played very well scoring 19 points and dishing 2 assists with 1 steal. Rondo had 7 assists to go with 3 points and 2 steals. I like them starting together although they are 0-5 when they do.

Al bounced back offensively with 19 points to go with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Perk played very well scoring 8 points on 4-4 shooting and pulled down 10 rebounds to go with 2 blocks in only 22 minutes. Powe played only 5 minutes but pulled down a rebound and played some good defense in that time.

Doc’s game plan was to stop the Bulls guards who beat us in the last game and they did a good job of it. But in doing so, they left Tyrus Thomas and Ben Wallace open for the most part and those two players dominated the game on both ends of the court. It seemed as though the Bulls just hustled more than the Celtics. They beat us to every loose ball and out rebounded us 46-32. The effort just wasn’t there. At least half the Celtics fans were happy - the ones cheering for the ping pong balls.
