INDIANAPOLIS -- The Boston Celtics went to Indiana guaranteeing their three-week losing streak would end and went home with more disappointment.
The Pacers beat the Celtics 103-96 on Tuesday night to give Boston its 12th straight loss.
Boston guard Delonte West made the guarantee in a story published Tuesday in the Boston Globe and Indiana forward Jermaine O'Neal took exception.
West started and played only 12 minutes because of flu-like symptons.
"When players like Delonte come in and guarantee wins, it's a motivator," O'Neal said. "I didn't really see him at all in the second half. It's a hard way to guarantee a victory when you have the flu. Don't put your team out there bad if you're not going to be out there to help them."
The Celtics are two defeats short of breaking the franchise record for consecutive losses. They can tie the mark of 13 at home Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
TORONTO (AP) -- The Toronto Raptors haven't been this good, this late in the season since Chris Bosh's rookie season.
Bosh had 26 points and Anthony Parker added a career-high 23 to lead the Raptors past the injury-riddled Boston Celtics 96-90 on Friday night.
The Atlantic-Division leading Raptors reached .500 (22-22) this late in the season for the first time since Feb. 10 2004.
"We worked very hard to get to this point and it's going to be even harder," said Bosh, whose team now goes on five-game road trip.
Toronto finished 4-1 on a homestand during which they played four teams with records below. 500.
"It's good be at .500, but our goal is greater than that," Toronto's Morris Peterson said.
Toronto went on a 19-0 fourth-quarter run when Boston went more than 6 minutes without scoring.
Al Jefferson had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who have lost 10 straight -- their longest skid since losing 10 in a row from March 20 to April 7 in 2000.
The Celtics are missing Paul Pierce, Wally Szczerbiak and Tony Allen.
"We just made a lot of mistakes at the end of the game and it cost us the game," Jefferson said.

BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Celtics are just racking up losses and injuries.
Joe Johnson and Josh Smith each scored 21 points as the Atlanta Hawks handed the Celtics their ninth straight loss, 82-76 on Wednesday night.
The Celtics have dropped 16 of their last 18 and have lost a franchise-worst eight straight home games.
"To let this slip away really hurts," Celtics forward Ryan Gomes said. "When you are up 15 points at halftime, you need to win."
Zaza Pachulia added 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench for Atlanta, which snapped a three-game losing streak and has won both meetings with Boston this season.
"I thought Joe Johnson was the key in the second half. He put us in position to win and was willing guys around," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said.
Boston, already without leading scorers Paul Pierce, Wally Szczerbiak and Tony Allen, also lost Al Jefferson to an ankle injury in the fourth quarter.
"We missed Al's inside presence late in the game," Celtics center Kendrick Perkins said. "It's tough right now ... We are struggling and have to deal with it."
Atlanta opened the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run and took a 66-62 lead on a Johnson fadeaway jumper with 7:13 remaining in the game. Rajon Rondo sank two free throws 23 seconds later and ended a Celtics drought of 8:20 without a point.
SEATTLE (AP) -- Chris Wilcox is different from most forwards around the NBA. For the Seattle SuperSonics, that's a good thing.
Wilcox, at 6-foot-10, 235 pounds, may not have the strength or weight of other big forwards, but he makes up for it with speed and quickness. Wilcox flashed his way through middle of the Celtics' defense for a season-high 24 points Sunday night to help the Sonics to a 101-95 victory against road-weary and injury-depleted Boston.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- After their most lopsided victory against Boston, the Los Angeles Clippers hardly cared that Paul Pierce was missing from the Celtics' lineup.
Elton Brand had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Tim Thomas also scored 25 and the Clippers snapped a four-game home losing streak with a 100-77 victory Wednesday night as the Celtics' leading scorer watched helplessly from the bench in street clothes.
"I know their best player's down, but we have one of our best players down as well," Corey Maggette said, referring to Clippers point guard Sam Cassell. "Our team's been really struggling, so we needed a win. We're just trying to stay afloat. We've got a couple more games at home before we take a long road trip, so hopefully we can do some damage."
The Clippers won for only the second time in nine games overall, while Cassell sat out due to a chronic case of plantar fasciitis in his left heel. The injury has forced him to miss four of the last eight games and has limited him to just 58 minutes of playing time during that stretch.
Boston played its third straight game without Pierce, expected to be sidelined for at least another week because of a stress reaction in his left foot.
"We'll have to wait and see," Pierce said. "I'll stay in L.A., stay off of it and after New Year's head back to Boston."
Sebastian Telfair had a team-high 18 points for the Celtics, who have lost four in a row after winning five straight. Al Jefferson, who had a career-high 15 rebounds in Tuesday's loss at Denver, had 14 boards against the Clippers and scored 10 points. But he shot only 4-for-16 from the field, and Boston finished at 31.9 percent overall.
"With Paul and Wally Szczerbiak out of there, every time Al touches the ball he's going to get double-teamed," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "Where Al's different is that last year, when he got trapped, he couldn't take a shot. It was a turnover every time and he would get completely frustrated. But now, he's really handling the double-team well. He's dribbling out of them, making good passes and finding other ways to stay involved."
DENVER (AP) -- Nuggets forward Reggie Evans said it was going to take time for everything to come together under the leadership of Allen Iverson.
Try two games.
Iverson had 28 points and 13 assists in Denver's 116-105 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
BOSTON (AP) -- The Philadelphia 76ers said goodbye to their 12-game losing streak and Allen Iverson all on the same night.
Andre Iguodala scored a career-high 31 points and had nine assists to help Philadelphia beat the Boston Celtics 98-83 on Friday night, just hours after the trade of their troubled superstar became official.
Iguodala topped the career high of 27 points he hit twice in the previous five games as the Sixers adjusted to life without Iverson. Samuel Dalembert had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Philadelphia, who earned their first victory since beating Chicago on Nov. 24.
Al Jefferson had 20 points and 14 rebounds and Gerald Green had 20 points and nine assists for Boston.
Paul Pierce has an injury in his left foot that will keep him out for two to three weeks.

BOSTON (AP) -- The Golden State Warriors looked as if they were going to blow a large lead for the second time in three nights. This time, Baron Davis had an answer.
Davis scored 31 points, and Mickael Pietrus added 16 to lead the Warriors to a 96-95 victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
Davis was 11-of-16 from the floor and added eight assists to help the Warriors snap an eight-game road losing streak and win for only the second time on the road this season. Andris Biedrins had 12 points and nine rebounds.
After blowing an eight-point fourth-quarter lead Monday night in a 105-97 loss to New Jersey, the Warriors survived a late Boston push to improve to 1-3 on its season-high six-game trip. Boston outscored Golden State 24-20 in the final quarter, but Davis bailed the Warriors out with nine points, including three key free throws.
"You just get tired of losing," said Davis, who turned the ball over eight times while shooting just 10-of-25 for 25 points against the Nets.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Paul Pierce scored 35 points and hit the clinching jumper in the final minute to lead the Boston Celtics to their fifth straight win, 106-100 over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night.
Pierce hit the go-ahead free throws with 2:06 left and a fadeaway 17-footer with 39 seconds remaining, part of a 10-0 run to give the Celtics a 102-97 lead.
Al Jefferson added 22 points for the Celtics, who recovered after blowing a 12-point halftime lead. It's Boston's longest winning streak since it won seven straight in March 2005.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The only Answer the Philadelphia 76ers have is on the trading block.
The Sixers still can't find one to their losing streak, dropping their ninth straight game, 101-81 to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
Paul Pierce and Ryan Gomes each scored 18 points, and Tony Allen had 16 for the Celtics, who won their third straight game and moved to .500 on the road. Al Jefferson added 13 assists for Boston, which is suddenly making a run at the wretched Atlantic Division lead.
Maybe adding someone like Allen Iverson (aka "The Answer) to the roster could put them on top of the worst division in basketball. The Celtics are one of the hot rumored destinations for Iverson, who was inactive for the fourth straight game while Philadelphia tries to trade the former MVP.
